INVISTA is bring the latest adiponitrile (ADN) technology to China to satisfy the strong, local demand for the nylon 6,6 intermediate chemical. A minimum 400,000-ton ADN plant is underway at an estimated investment in excess of $1 billion.
To support this INVISTA’s largest capital project, INVISTA Shanghai is hiring a Production Engineer to facilitate Day 1 readiness of this ADN project and support production manager to ensure production performance during normal operation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
During Project:
Participate in project pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Assistant commissioning manager to track the takeover scheduling and progressing, connect project EPC’s scheduling with our commissioning and startup scheduling.
Facilitate production team to review Commissioning Procedure different point view.
Facilitate production team on all filed commissioning activities, including blowing and flushing, walkdown, PSSR, function test, punch list and confirmation, etc.
Facilitate PPDS&MRP to develop the managing structure of all IN&OUT material of ADN plant, satisfy the requirements of both D1R and normal operation.
Cooperate with DC and project EPC contractor to ensure the integrity of handover documentation operation perspective.
Identify the opportunities of long-term operation improvement during commissioning, develop the pathway after start-up accordingly.
Facilitate production manager to develop shift capability of general process trouble shooting for D1R and develop the strategy for sustainable growth towards SRS goals.
During Normal Operation after Project:
Support operations effort to create a cultural of operational excellence, accountabilities, professionalism, and commitment to MBM and INVISTA Vision.
Provide process support and trouble shooting in daily operation.
Monitor overall plant production activities and related affairs, facilitate production manage to improve continuously the quality, productivity, and EHS performance.
Propose qualitative and quantitative measures for production processes, technical state of installations, HSE conditions and production manuals of the processes. Report regularly production quality, quantity and technical state of production facility.
Conduct shop-floor activity analyses, interviews, data gathering and analysis and compile into improvement opportunities and impact.
Provide guidance to shift team on Continuous Improvement, build up this capability in shift team step by step. · Lead customer complaint investigation and ensure product non-conformance/off-spec incident is investigated for actions.
Link into and communicate with global operation and process community to ensure learning and experience is shared with INVISTA global work.
Technical Skills & Competencies
High EHS standard in a chemical plant and able to hold accountability of EHS standard.
In depth knowledge in chemical process and operation.
Rich experience and knowledge in project implementation operation perspective in chemical manufacturing area.
Ability to interact with first line people and lead multi-disciplinary teams with good leadership skills, as well as hand-on and team player.
Good Interpersonal and communication skills.
Rich experience and knowledge in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument operation perspective is an advantage.
Experience:
At least 8 years working experience in a continues process chemical plant (like oil refinery). At least 5 years act the role as plant engineer, process engineer, production engineer, shift leader, production supervisor, etc.
1+ new project commissioning and startup experience and act as engineer in the project.
Experience in HCN or similar high hazard chemical plants is an advantage.
Education:
BS degree in Chemical Engineering (other operation related major) or equivalent with higher level degree is an advantage.
Language Needed:
Fluent in English and Mandarin both speaking and writing.
